No this is not another subject like those of the annoying half-animal half-human bloggers on this site, its an expose of a different kind. I love Upper Playground, and their artist collective. I have been a fan of UP since first wandering in their store when visiting Haight and Ashbury in 1998 on a mission to buy a hoodie made by Staple (back when Jeff Staple had time to make a full line of clothes) at TRUE with some lunch money I had saved up.

I subscribe to UP’s blog and artists blogs and noticed that whoever is posting on them is a fan of Synthesis. Why wouldn’t they be? I mean, I gave The Next Best Thing book by Jeremy Fish and Aesop Rock a great review and I asked Aye Jay to interview Jeff Soto and director Shaun Roberts in a conjunction 3 page piece on UP’s The Run UP which is just as ill as Dithers.

But the thing is, the mystery fan is forgetting to return the love. First it was the Alex Pardee drawing he did exclusively for the cover of our March issue, UP blogged the images but the author forgot to mention that the illustration was for our magazine. Then the day some scenester blogger (probably just another trust-fund kid), Mud Duck, talked about Train Surfing, so did UP’s blog. This may very well be coincidence, but today, UP posted even more dope pictures of Alex Pardee’s art to promote his show and again forgot to mention it was for Synthesis’ cover. Its not like its a secret.

It made me think for a second, “People actually read our blog?” I guess they do. But I wish we would get a little more credit for it.

Synthesis + UP = BFF
